Artemisininand other compounds in fight against cancer

Artemisinin, a derivative of the Wormwood plant, has been found to kill cancer cells when linked with iron. The problem with mainstream cancer treatment is that it attacks not only cancer cells, but also the healthy ones, making the road to recovery heavier and in some cases even impossible. While artemisinin has been used in anti-malarial treatment for over 30 years, this is a relatively recent discovery. Please note: use of artemisinin is not advocated to treat cancer and human use is considered experimental: http://depts.washington.edu/bioe/resources/artemisinin-cancer/
