The In2Care Mosquito trap is a promising new tool in the battle against Dengue, Zika, Chikungunya and other diseases transmitted by the Aedes mosquitoes.The In2Care Mosquito Trap is a multi-impact lethal ovitrap specifically for Aedes mosquitoes control that can effectively lure, infect and contaminate female mosquitoes. It kills infected adults and their offspring, both inside the trap itself and in surrounding breeding sites via auto-dissemination (self-spreading of larvicide). This makes it highly effective - one trap will kill mosquito larvae in an area of 400 sq m. The device is user- and environmentally-friendly, low-cost, and does not rely on electricity. Its low production and operating costs enable large scale deployment in affected locations. At the request of the US-CDC, the US-EPA issued a section 18 exemption from registration for the In2Care Mosquito trap to enable deployment of the trap in areas with local transmission of Zika. The In2Care core technology is a specific coating that has an electrostatic charge (positive) opposite to the natural charge of insecticide powder (negative). When mosquitoes fly, they become positively charged, meaning that when they land on the coated netting in the In2Care Mosquito trap, the discharge induces a transfer of pesticide an order of magnitude bigger than other products. The transfer is so effective it breaks insecticide resistance. This same technology is used in the Eavetubes; an innovation validated by the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation with a grant of 10.2 million USD to prove this innovation will decrease the amount of malaria deaths in Africa.
